GTA V - Loose Ends & The Unexplained

It could be said that the Mt. Chiliad Mural Mystery remains unsolved.  There are other unexplained details and loose ends such as:

1. the frozen alien found in the river during the Prologue
2. the reassembled miniature UFO that flies away to an unknown location
3. the special vehicle: Space Docker which seems to serve no purpose
4. glyphs that don't seem to match the UFOs they are believed to represent
5. giant satellite dishes that point to the same direction except one which faces the opposite direction
6. men in black and lab coats that spawn near the dishes and radio towers
7. the mural's depiction of a man wearing a jetpack
8. one special black UFO with no explanation as to why it's different from the others
9. the flashing green lights emitting from the black UFO down to the bunker on the military base
10. the random event that spawns a creepy guy who tazes you unconscious and leaves you for dead
11. the 3 T-shaped inaccessible drainage tunnels on Mt. Chiliad that might lead somewhere
12. only 1 UFO requires special circumstances to see it
13. the red painted arrows scattered throughout the map seem to lead to odd things
14. the existence of the underwater hatch and its unknown purpose
15. the Altruist Cult and their connection to all the glyphs on Mt. Chiliad and the Hippie Camp
16. the Epsilon Cult and their connection to the mural mystery
17. the random graffiti texts which bear different messages all over the map
18. the Infinity Killer's connection to the mural mystery and was he a scapegoat for the government
19. the reason why Michael is the only one to hallucinate aliens and alien abduction
20. the unmarked grave atop the San Chianski Mountain Range
21. why does the black UFO sound like whale communication?
22. what was the logic behind the placement/location of the UFOs?
23. why are there alien writings all over the Hippie Camp and other areas?
24. why are there still jars with body parts in Merle Abraham's abandoned house?

...and more.

GTA V - Underwater Hatch Mystery

Deep under water is a small structure embedded in the ocean floor.  It has a small rectangular window which lights up when you get closer to it.  If you get too close, you will die from the crushing pressure of the water.  If playing while using a "no water modification," you can climb right on top of it which shows us that thus far, there is no direct interaction available with it.  This structure is believed to be a reference to The Hatch from the TV show Lost.  However, that structure was above ground and not under any water.

Swimming just above it, you can hear a strange tapping noise.  The noise is a "tap code" and not morse code as previously believed.  Deciphered it says, "You never call, how d'you fancy going bowling?"  This is a funny reference to Roman Bellic, the cousin of protagonist Niko Bellic from GTA IV.  No one has figured out the purpose of this hatch.  It remains an unsolved mystery.

GTA V - Leonora Johnson Murder Mystery

Visiting the in-game website will provide you with full details of this murder mystery.  Collecting 50 pieces of letter scraps found throughout the game's map, will prove who was responsible for her horrible death.  Reading the clues and exacting revenge solves this murder case for good.

GTA V - Jolene Cranley-Evans Murder Mystery

There are tons of in-game websites to explore via cell phone or any computer/laptop.  Online, you can find an article titled: "Another Vinewood Mystery: Blood on the Rocks," which talks about the accidental death of Jolene Cranley-Evans.  There is also this newspaper clipping:

In addition, you can locate clues about where the ghost of Jolene can be seen on Mt. Gordo.  To catch a glimpse of her apparition, you must be standing at a distance, near the correct location, and it must be between the hours of 11:00pm and 12:00am.  She will leave behind her husband's first name, "Jock," written in blood, on the rocks underneath her ghost.  If viewing her from behind, she glows and you can see a swirling black mist underneath her as well.  This murder mystery is considered solved.

GTA V - Infinity Killer Murder Mystery

A newspaper clipping found in Sandy Shores details the death of Merle Abrahams, the only known suspect in the case of 8 missing men:

A riddle on a desert rock:
Some paranoia on a desert rock:
A prison wall riddle which is also referenced in the gathering of Epsilon Tracts (collectibles):
Numerous instances of this barrel are found throughout northern section of the map:
On the outside of an abandoned home in Sandy Shores:
The interior of that house:
Another interior view:
A strange collection of body parts in jars:
Another interior view:
1 of 8 bound and shrink-wrapped dead bodies underwater:
Locations of all underwater dead bodies at northernmost tip of the map:
This murder mystery is presumed solved but I wonder about Merle's ties to the Altruist Cult and Epsilon Cult.  The writing styles differ for the riddles and the house graffiti - one believed to be Merle's, and the other, believed to be a pissed off Sandy Shores resident.  Because Merle died in prison while awaiting a fair trial, I wonder if he was actually a government scapegoat for an abduction cover-up.

GTA V - Mt. Chiliad Mural Mystery

Most of the in-game mysteries are believed to have been solved but the so-called "solution" for the Mt. Chiliad mural remains shoddy.  It could be that Rockstar Games has sent its players on a wild goose chase with clues that are intended to confuse rather than be pieced together.  It's also possible that the puzzle has not been solved or can't be solved until a later DLC release.  Have a look at some existing clues in the game...

It begins with Mt. Chiliad and a mural found inside the lift building:
An observation deck atop this mountain offers a message and a red colored glyph painted underneath:
Five (5) white colored glyphs can be seen along the mountain's rocky surface in various locations:

A 6th image of an unidentified face is also located on the rocky surface of the mountain:

The mountain also has the Altruist (cult) Camp which includes several buildings and watch towers:

Underneath the camp, is a shallow cave which is believed to be used for animal sacrifice (has horns):

Both the Altruist Camp and cave have multi-colored glyphs and phrases and here are all of them:

Far east from Mt. Chiliad is the Hippie Camp which features alien writings everywhere:

The Hippie Camp shows us two (2) colored glyphs (matching two from the mountain):

And a bunch of alien writing:
In this same desert area, there are a few other clues:

In the city of Los Santos, another glyph can be found as part of a local business logo:

The observatory in Los Santos has something eerily familiar:

In the very 1st mission, if you wander off the preset path, you'll stumble on an alien frozen in a river:

Then UFOs make an appearance on 8 different occasions starting with a noisy embedded one stuck in a building:

Then there's that mission where you're drugged and you somehow get abducted by aliens via their spacecraft:

At that Hippie Camp, there's a joke UFO:

In another mission, you help reassemble a miniature but fully functional and noisy UFO:

When scuba diving, you'll eventually find a crashed UFO at the bottom of the ocean:

Above Fort Zancudo, there's a scary noisy UFO:

That one also has some interesting text on it - see it up close:

Very high above the Hippie Camp, there's another noisy UFO:

Lastly, there's a noisy UFO that appears atop Mt. Chiliad at 3:00am on a rainy night, after your 100% completion:

All in-game UFOs can be touched EXCEPT for the one that appears atop Mt. Chiliad.  It is believed that the mountain glyphs match the mural like so:

There are other in-game mysteries too. Check out my other posts because they might have something to do with this puzzle.  One thing I stumbled on is an unrelated watch product (right) that features similar writings to the in-game alien writings (left) and so here is the cipher for it:
